Most of the students in our grade have
recently been to Barcelona to celebrate the end of our four years of
Secondary Compulsory Education. We visited some cities in Catalonia.
First we went to Sort, a small village
in Lleida near the Pyrenees. We went there by bus, so the trip was
very long. It lasted more than 17 hours, but we had a good time
chatting to friends or sleeping. We stayed at a small hostel where
the food was very good, the people were very nice and the views were
impressive.
As Sort is at the top of a mountain,
there are many activities people can do in the countryside, such as
rafting, horse ridding, paint-ball, archery and driving quads.
The one we enjoyed most was rafting. It
was our first time, so we were very excited and scared at the
beginning. We made groups of six. A monitor showed us how to row or
how to act in different situations. Although the water of the river
was very cold, we could have a bath.
On Wednesday we took a bus and went to
Salou, a city near the Costa Daurada and 112 km from Barcelona. We
stayed at a hotel in which we had breakfast and dinner. The bedrooms
were comfortable and there were two swimming pools in which we could
have a bath on Thursday evening. We weren't alone in the hotel: we
met teenagers from Spain and from other countries.
We went to Barcelona twice as it was
near Salou. It was a very beautiful city and the places we liked most
were the Aquarium, the Sagrada Familia, the Gothic neighborhood or
the football stadium called Camp-Nou. We went to the top of Montjuic
mountain from where we could see the whole city. On the first day a
tour guide showed us the most attractive places and we learned about
the history and the traditions of the city.
At night we went to a disco called
Snoepy's. It was fun because there were a lot of people from other
countries and the music was really cool. It was the funniest part of
the trip for most of us.
On Saturday we went to a theme park
called Portaventura. It was very fun, as the highest roller-coaster
in Europe is there. There are also many water attractions which we
could enjoy.
We went back to Cadiz at night and the
trip didn't seem so long because we were asleep. When we arrived home
we were exhausted as we had had a tiring week. We wish we had spent
more time in Barcelona and we hope that next year the students will
have such a great time.
