Three
armed men took Wednesday the
7th
January the weekly
satiric
Charlie Hebdo's
office.
The
magazine known all around Europe
for
using an aggressive
style
when they denounce
religions
intolerance, had published
some
years ago Muhammad's caricatures.
This
isn't the firs attack to the
magazine
because in 2011
they
suffered an attack with an I
ncendiary
artifact.
The
raiders were armed with a rifle
called
Kalashnikov
and later, they run away after facing against the police. During the
attack killed four people, two of whom were policemen.
In
one of the videos of the attack, the aggressors could be
heard
shouting “We have avenged the prophet Muhammad” and
“We
have killed Charlie
Hebdo”.
According
to some witnesses the attackers said the name of several people who
work in the weekly magazine.
Last
January 14th
Al
Qaeda releassed
a video in which they accepted the responsability for the attack on
Charlie
Hebdo ''We
take responsability for this operation to avenge the messenger of
God'' manifested group spokesman referring to the caricature of
Muhammad published in the magazine.
Despite
the attack, other members of the staff of Charlie
Hebdo
magazine anounced they would continue publishing the magazine.
So
the first publication after the brutal attack against their
headquarters happened to be sold out just three hours after being
published.
This
attack against the headquarters of Charlie
is
the most serious act of terrorism in France since 1961, when 28
people died in a
train
attack carried out by the organization of the
secret
army, a French right wing
terrorrist
organization which was led by
General
Raoul Salan.
To
show support to victims of the attack more than
a
million. French peolple joined last January 11th
in
Paris.
The
protest turned into a celebration of free
speech
and expression attended by over 50 heads
of
state or presidents of governement.
